Certificate III in Aromatherapy is designed to build on what you have learned in Certificate II. Prerequisites, Certificate II in Aromatherapy or similar. Upon successful completion of the course you will obtain your IICT accredited Certificate III in Aromatherapy.

The course consists of 8 units as follows:

Unit 1 – An in-depth study of 6 essential oils

  • Physical and emotional

  • How to identify the most appropriate method of application

Unit 2 – Feet

  • Anatomy of the foot
  • Overview of reflexology
  • Common foot ailments
  • Foot baths and scrubs
  • Foot massage

Unit 3 – Clay and clay treatments

  • The therapeutic properties of a variety of clays
  • Methods of application
  • Ingestion of clay – the benefits and cautions

Unit 4 – An in-depth study of 6 essential oils

  • Physical and emotional
  • Evidence-based research
  • Methods for the use of specific oils
  • How to identify the most appropriate method of application

Unit 5 – Introduction to organic chemistry

  • Understanding the chemical make up of an essential oil
  • Solubility tests to determine best mediums to disperse various essential oils

Unit 6 – An in-depth study of 6 essential oils

  • Physical and emotional
  • Evidence-based research
  • Methods for the use of specific oils
  • How to identify the most appropriate method of application

Unit 7 – The Back

  • Anatomy of the back
  • Conditions affecting the back
  • Aromatherapy back massage

Unit 8 – A study of medical terminology and case studies followed by a final review and final assessment.
